The Power of Play

Updated: Jul 20

The Power of Play is changing lives. Have you heard of it?

It’s meaningful, socially interactive, actively engaging, iterative, and joyful.

That’s the energy Dr. Gina Gomez de la Cuesta and her team at Play Included C.I.C. are harnessing with every Brick Club they start.

Not only is it fun, but it’s research-backed and supported by current literature findings. (Learn more on the Play Included C.I.C.‘s website: https://lnkd.in/echkxNTd)

A few years ago, I wondered if we could bring this power to a local level.

Ms. Ana Anselma, the administrative director at the Social Mind Center, was right there to support the mission.

Her organization aims to empower children and teens with communication, thinking, and self-management skills to navigate the world independently. This is aligned perfectly with the Power of Play and the Brick Club’s capabilities.

We partnered with Play Included C.I.C. and brought Brick Clubs to Pembroke Pines, Florida, in April 2022.

Over two years later, the Social Mind Center Brick Club has been running and helping children on the Autism Spectrum make new friends while developing their communication, fine motor, and cognitive skills.

Additionally, the Club has shown signs of improving the children’s emotions and creating a safe space for families to come and share about their weeks.

I thank everyone who helped make this dream come true and those actively working to grow the good.

Here is to all the incredible that is yet to come!
